About ANNA: 'ANNA' is one of the two graduation films I made during my study at AKV Sint Joost. The film shows us the shy Justin who unexpectedly finds himself next to the exuberant Anna in a wild attraction at the fun-fair. Flashes of images and snippets of sounds tell the story of a possibly awakening love. Between all the noise of the fun-fair, time seems to stop for a moment.

Basically there are two I things find interesting about filmmaking. First is that film is a medium to communicate very clear and fast and it is possible to create an atmosphere. The second is the craft of filmmaking. The way to create a feeling or atmosphere with a lot of technique, knowledge and organisation. ANNA is a film which emphasizes this craft. A lot of pre-production was needed to find the right people and locations. The film is shot with only students except for the actors and gripper. We shot on 35mm with a digital-intermediate 2K postproduction.
